Period Poverty

For a lot Australian people, the thought of not having access to sanitary products during their period is inconceivable. But for many this is the reality...

Every month, millions of women have to ‘make do’ with makeshift period items. From socks to scarves and tissues to toilet rolls, with no access to period products, people living in period poverty have no other choice but to improvise.

We created an eye-opening installation showcasing items such as newspapers, socks, rags and make-up pads. The pop-up was used as a platform to elevate the conversation about period poverty and shock people into action, with the option to donate via Modibodi’s 'Give a Pair' program.
